Is Delta Executor a Virus? How to Read the Scan Results

The published Delta Executor files draw a repackaging tag, not a malware family; a label that names a stealer, ransomware or a backdoor is what marks an infection. The VirusTotal report for the file you hold shows which of the two applies.

Why Does Antivirus Flag Delta Executor?

A scanner reacts to identity. The Android file identifies itself as Roblox’s own package, com.roblox.client, yet it is signed with a certificate its maker issued to itself. A repackaging tag such as Riskware.Repack marks an app that copies an existing app’s identity with changed contents or a changed certificate.

The iPhone file follows the same pattern, a Roblox app under a different bundle id. The only label on record for a published file is that repackaging tag, so it describes what the file is, a modified copy of another company’s app, and not a payload inside it. Labels on a Windows file describe that file, not a current release, since no Windows version is supported.

What Do Antivirus Labels Mean?

A label names a type, and the type decides whether it means an infection.

Label typeDetails
PUA (potentially unwanted application)What Microsoft says it is: Software that Microsoft does not count as malware; one category is “poor industry reputation,” where trusted security providers detect it
What it means for a Delta file: A flag on the file, not an infection
HackToolWhat Microsoft says it is: A tool category whose members can enable unauthorized access to a device
What it means for a Delta file: A tool-type label: look for a named family beside it
Repackaging tag (Riskware, Repack)What Microsoft says it is: An app that copies another app’s identity with changed contents or certificate
What it means for a Delta file: How the file was built; the label on record for the published files
Trojan, password stealer, ransomware, downloader, backdoorWhat Microsoft says it is: Malware: a trojan poses as harmless software, a password stealer collects logins (often with a keylogger), ransomware locks files for payment, a downloader fetches other malware, a backdoor gives remote access
What it means for a Delta file: An infection: stop using the file

Vendors name one family differently, so read the type inside the label rather than one vendor’s spelling.

How Do You Read a VirusTotal Report for the File?

  1. Match the hash. Open the report linked from the file’s platform page — Android APK page, iPhone or Vietnam build — and confirm its SHA-256 hash equals the hash of the file you hold. A different hash means a different file.
  2. Read the labels, not the count. The Detection tab lists each vendor’s label. One vendor’s PUA or repackaging tag differs from two or more vendors naming a stealer.
  3. Check the Details tab. It lists the package name and the signing certificate, the two facts described above.
  4. Read the Community tab for notes from other users.

VirusTotal aggregates over 70 scanners and shows false positives beside real detections. It lists what scanners recognise, and the app’s behaviour after launch lies outside that.

What Does a Blocked Install Mean?

Three prompts look alike and differ in kind:

Chrome’s unknown-source prompt

Says the phone may not install apps from that source and offers a Settings button. It is a phone setting, and the “Allow apps from this source” switch clears it.

Play Protect’s scan request

Appears for an app new to it and asks to send app details to Google. You choose Scan app or Don’t install.

Play Protect’s block

Play Protect’s block, titled “Harmful app blocked,” names the app fake, with OK as the button and “Install anyway” as a small link. This one is a verdict Play Protect reached on the file itself.

On Windows, Microsoft states that a warning for unknown software is not a block. When a block appears, check the file’s hash against its platform page and read its report before you choose; the Android file page has the install steps.

How Do You Spot and Remove a Fake Delta Executor File?

A Windows Delta Executor file is no current release: the Windows version is discontinued, so a copy offered today is outdated or fake. Delete it and scan the PC offline. The three signs of a fake download are in the safety guide.

  1. Do not run it again. If it ran, treat saved logins as exposed and change those passwords, and the Roblox password, from a different device.
  2. Save your work, then open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Scan options, select Microsoft Defender Offline scan and choose Scan now.
  3. Wait about 15 minutes. Windows restarts, scans outside the normal system and loads again. The scan needs administrator rights.
  4. Read the result under Protection history in Windows Security and remove what it lists.

The offline scan does not run on ARM Windows PCs, and BitLocker must be suspended first or Windows asks for the recovery key. An exclusion is the wrong step, because it stops scanning that file. On Android, uninstall the app under Settings → Apps; Play Protect can also disable or remove an app it judges harmful.

Does a Clean Report Mean Delta Executor Is Safe?

No. A clean report answers one question, whether scanners recognise the file. It does not describe the app’s behaviour after launch, and it does not address Roblox’s rules. A report also belongs to one exact file: a new release has a new hash and a new report. Account risk is a separate question.

FAQ

No. Microsoft does not count a PUA as malware, and a HackTool label names a tool type, so an infection needs a named family such as a stealer, ransomware or a backdoor.

Delta’s install guide lists turning it off temporarily as a fix for “App not installed.” Play Protect scans no app while it is off, and Google recommends leaving it on. The switch is Play Store → profile → Play Protect → Settings → Scan apps with Play Protect.

The Windows version is discontinued; a PC runs the Android app through an emulator.

Treat the file as an infection: delete it, run the offline scan above and change your passwords from a clean device.
